oh! my keyboard teacher is the best i swear, she photocopied shan hu hai scores for me so i dont need to buy the entire book. haha! i'm learning to play it! and and and! jay's new cd is coming out! -rar rar rar! and he.. erm. has invited the gay, fei yu qing to collaborate in a song. ahem.
The first plugged song for Jay's latest album "Still Fantasy" is called "Beyond A Thousand Miles", he has invited "Golden Voice" Fei Yu Qing to sing it together. Fei Yu Qing's beautiful voice and Jay's hip hop singing style produces a beautiful "contrast", Jay admits this "two-man duet" is the diaoest collaboration he has done since he came out!
Jay is very fond of the Chinese style songs Fei Yu Qing sings. Last year when Jay was writing "Hair Like Snow", Jay was thinking he would work with Xiao Ge (Fei Yu Qing's nickname) in the future. And through the general manager Mr Yeung, the two artists who are experts at performing Chinese style songs have come together, the feeling is very fresh.
Fei Yu Qing expressed: "I really like this song, before I went into the recording studio I had already practised it many times, after I went into the recording studio Jay gave me some pointers on the feeling he wants, the recording was very smooth. I also discovered Jay sings very well, there are a few high notes and then it quickly goes low, so even youngsters singing have a technique."
Jay responded: "Xiao Ge is the fastest artist I have seen to sing a vocal accompaniment. He finished singing this song in two hours, like with Nan Quan Mama, they once had to spend a good few days to complete one verse."
When Fei Yu Qing is singing the vocal accompaniment he is used to the producer having the curtain up, on that day when singing with Jay for the first time, he moved slightly, perhaps it was a bit strange so he just gave up shifting position, who could have thought that they accidentally discovered that singing face to face with Jay had a good effect.
Jay's new album has everyone's attention, people online love to guess his album name and song names. They were scared that this time's collaboration with Fei Yu Qing would be exposed too early so general manager Mr Yeung ordered everyone to keep their mouths shut. On the day of the MV filming they hired bodyguards to pick up Xiao Ge, they also used black umbrellas to guard against the paparazzi taking pictures.
"Beyond A Thousand Miles" was filmed with an old-fashioned opera house background, Jay plays the opera house waiter, Xiao Ge uses his voice to tell a touching love story. Participating in the MV, Xiao Ge asked director Jay, was his performance okay, Jay gave him the thumbs up and said: "Very good!"
"Beyond A Thousand Miles" is going to be broadcast for the first time on the 23rd on HitFM radio. The new album is called "Still Fantasy", Jay says it is echoing that his music style is not changing which he has always stressed, just like "Fantasy", it is Jay's style.
